| Recently, at the Provincial Science and Technology Work Conference, PISI was awarded the title of "Advanced Unit of Science and Technology Innovation Work in 2023" for the first time.
In 2023, PISI achieved significant results in scientific and technological innovation: First, 2 PISI-leading national projects, 3 additional national research programs and 11 Sichuan Provincial projects were approved to support the national strategy; second, major breakthroughs were made in key technologies to support the industrialization of titanium extraction from blast furnace slag, the preparation of high-end titanium and titanium alloys based on resources available in the Pan-Xi region, and the development of special materials for aircraft landing gear; third, further progress was made in scientific and technological reform with the Chengdu Institute of Advanced Metal Materials being awarded the benchmark of "Demonstration of Market Oriented Reform in Sci-Tech Enterprises" in 2022 by SASAC of the State Council; fourth, new highlights were achieved in the output of scientific and technological achievements: The first prize of China Nonferrous Metal Industry Science and Technology Award was won for the first time; 256 invention patents (including 23 international patents) were granted; 35 SCI and EI papers were published and 1 international standard and 6 national standards were formulated.
